I think there may be investments but I have no proof. Where do I start?
The short answer
With whatever you have, however little. A suspicion is a legitimate starting point, and it is how a large share of cases begin.
A company mentioned once, an entry in an old diary, a reference in a bank statement, or simply the knowledge that a relative invested — any of those is enough to begin looking. Sometimes we find nothing, and we say so plainly rather than keeping a case open.
